find it hard to believe its the new R.. Those are not R-rims but simple boavista's available on any Polo and the R-Line package already available looks far different..

As far as I'm concerned, its just a GTI with camera on dash and rear

This is what the actual R-line pack looks like, rims are different.

sorry for sounding really noob, but is the R-line the same as a R model? i'm thinking audi's S-line which isnt a S model. just some body kit and added goodies

you'd be bang on in thinking that.

for example, they have the tiguan r-line in europe, but as far as i know it doesnt have the golf R engine, nor is it putting out the kind of power that can be had from a stage one tune...

VW could really win over the hot hatch segment, in both hatch and supermini, if they just did:

          - keep existing engines, up the tunes
          - MANUAL GEARBOX!!!!!!!!!
          - work on chassis both from a cornering perspective, as well as a feel-through-the-steering-wheel perspective
          - defeatable ESP
          - get the cars simpler, lighter. no, the cars dont need a 3kg sensor to detect whether or not you've washed your balls this week...
          - make the cars emotional to drive, in spite of imperfections...

but then, most of the above would be the job of the french, lol.

if they simply did the above, i'd be glad to see it with an R badge on it, and i'd probably even line up for one.

agree! take a gti and play with it - 154kw will cost less to reach than a new R

They are NOT Boavista rims and they are certainly NOT different.

I think Toyota and Subaru might have just released the car you're talking about Scott

Maybe I read your post incorrectly but my comment was actually referring to your post with the 2 associating images...not the web link.

I highly doubt that test vehicle caught on spy cam is what will be released as the Polo R.

Apart from the color...clearly that is a GTI shell and kit with boavistas.

                      No problem Mistakes can happen

You dont get to choose the shadow blue on your GTI?
Because over here you can get any colour (except the new "toffee brown") GTI, so that's why I remain sceptical of this 'spy shot'

You don't think they would try to hide the fact they are testing a new model? We have no idea of the running gear underneath that shell.
