  • Polo Track Times

Hi guys. I thought it might be an idea to start a thread where we can show off our lap/¼ mile times from track days etc.

I went to the Test n' Tune drags at Willowbank last night and did 6 runs:

    1. 15.048 @ 150.78
    2: 15.141 @ 150.05
    3: 15.077 @ 149.94
    4: 14.430 @ 154.02 (!!!)
    5: 14.573 @ 152.00
    6: 14.634 @ 153.56

It was the first time I've been out and had an absolute blast. It was so much fun playing with different settings and learning which way of shifting works best.

Let us know how you've done!

P.s If this becomes popular it might be and idea to sticky the thread

Keep in mind that I have the APR stage 1. I beat a new (turbo) Mini JCW not once, but twice!! It was sooo funny listening to his excuses: "grumble grumble damn traction control mumble mumble missed shift mutter mutter turbo lag"

Not a drag but as stock standard in the second week of ownership, my GTI pulled a 0-100 time of 6.5 secs?!?! That's 0.4 quicker than is factory quoted and I didn't believe it until I saw the data!

Nice time! Have you done anything else in the way of mods other than the tune?

Any other mods? Cooler/turbo back exhaust etc?

What are the standard 1/4 mile times in these things? Might have to get out to WSID and have a few runs myself

Anyone else got times from the track? Surely more of you boys have had your Polo's out for a run?

It was my first drive of the Polo on the circuit - a little more work and I reckon she would drop into the 1:09's very nimble, you can feel the weight advantage compared to a golf through the top sections & fish hook, corner speed is excellent.
