  • My Black 2011 6R Polo GTI

    Hi Guys

As some of you may know my 9n3 Polo Gti was stolen on the 21st of may this year.

And on Friday I picked up the replacement.......

And I already have one of these.....

Looks mean in black mate. Sorry to hear about your old ride but looks like there was a silver lining. How'd you get your hands on a 6R so quickly?

      Thanks bud.

Well I went to order the car and the dealership had a silver one that was on it's way to germany, that had already been built. BUT luckily I have a family member that does the ordering and paying of cars for that dealership, and she managed to swap the silver for a black one (That was also going to be on the same ship) that was destined for another dealership in south africa. She also managed to pre-clear the car at customs and paid for it the day the ship docked. So I only waited 2 months instead of 4 to 6.....

Nice pickup - Congrats! Just make sure this time you bulletproof this baby! Put a fake snake on the dashboard? Haha!!

Edit: Didn't realise how huge those tailpipes were!

It's not what you know; it's who you know...

Sorry to hear about your previous ride, but that's a sweet looking car mate! Black is definitely growing on me for the GTI.

Is the Pipercross filter to drop into the factory air box? I just had a look on their website but couldn't find any products specific for the 6R GTI. I assume it's a universal measurement that fits?

The mounting looks exactly the same as the stock filter. My K&N filter fits in the airbox, just remove the stock and insert in the new

                Thanks guys....

Yip The pipercross is a drop in replacement filter.

The filter sort of twists onto the lid of the airbox like the original one....

Larry mate, you needed to flog it from the get-go! Don't baby it, though if you have done over 100kms on the clock, no point now....

Hey! Looks like mine! Except for the headlights...

Yep, lots of people subscribe to the "Don't baby it" school of thought on this forum - despite what it says in the manual. Just make sure you warm it up first. I was skeptical, but now on 2000km, and no sign of losing oil.

How long before you remove the bluish protective plastic on the VW logo on the engine cover? I didn't even notice it on mine until I was 1000kms in!
