The other thing is that some dealerships "outsource" the pre-delivery. And it's not just they get someone else to come to the dealership to remove all the plastic and foam and rubber and clean the car - the car is actually delivered elsewhere and that is done. So the cars turn up to the dealership "unwrapped" and only need a "final wash" on the day the customer arrives to pick it up.

Guy in the office that is an ex Patricks autocare pre-delivery mechanic assures me that all that happens to vw's is a quarantine inspection, maybe a shot of glorified bug spray and the compliance plate fitted, VGA don't contract them to do anything else, might have changed in the last little while but if there's one thing I've learned of late, VGA are creatures of habit

Hi Mike..I am getting it from Berwick VW..Last wednesday, I was told that car was at Patrick's but I think it was there well before that..the sales guy wrote this "I’m not sure why the vehicle has been delayed (I think quarantine issues)" to me today..I have a bad feeling now that its going to take many more weeks..

My dealer must be bending the truth then, he told me there are quite a number of things that Patrick Autocare do the vehicle before its transported.
He mentioned about 15 - 20 different things all simple tasks really, stuff like check battery, affix stickers and plates, put in owners manual etc etc.
I'm going to ask my dealer for a screen shot of the patrick autocare tracking page that he's been getting the info from.
My salesman that is doing my deal is the nicest i've ever dealt with and he's post sale service has been amazing so i "want" to believe everything he says...
