  • GTI suspension fit other models?

Hi, I have a set of H&R coming soon, and am wondering what I can do with the stock GTI suspension. Does anyone know if I can sell it to a non GTI Polo, or will it only fit a GTI?

Also, I think I may have found wheels that I really like. Anyone want to suggest how much I should sell the GTI wheels for (with or without tyres)? Thanks.

I too am interested to know this but can I ask which H&R springs you purchased...was it model 28977-1 (25/40mm for 929Kg front axle) or model 28977-2 (25/40mm for 930Kg front axle).

In regards to the wheels, I'm also about to sell my denvers with tyres which have done 1,300km, probably will start at $1K and go from there. I know another user had his at $1,400 but I think that is excessive.

Also...where are you getting your springs put in?

GTI Suspension will fit other polos, yes. THat's the simple answer.

THe complex answer is that the front springs especially will have a different spring rate to cope with the heavier engine (other the diesel), along with a higher spring rate to cope with the extra weight of the rear mounted battery, this is why when you buy springs, they specify what axle loads they are for....Well the european sites do anyway.

So again, will it fit? Yes. Will a person with a standard, 1.2 Polo get the same suspension drop? Possibly not, it may even be taller due to the higher spring rates for the stiffer springs.

Thanks for the suggested price on the wheels. Just to clarify, I am replacing both strut and spring, as I got the H&R coilovers, the monotube. I'll use Trutrack in North Melb to do the work for me.

Where did you get your wheels? Love it!

That makes a lot of sense. Thanks. Guess I'll keep it for the next owner or swap back out when I sell the car then?

Ok bad assumption on my part regarding the springs. I'll keep Trutrack in mind when the time comes.

Got the wheels from MuSecret in NSW.
