  • So I backed my Polo into a cross beam in a car park

Yep not even a week old. I cannot believe it. I've never done anything like it before in my ten years of driving. It was my fault. But I didnt see it. It was a slow impact. The bumper is a little buckled. The rear boot door has has a dent in it. Can anyone recommend me the best VW panel beater in sydney? I am so pissed off at myself!

I'm sorry for you, marcs. Similar thing happened to me when I got my last new car.

I tried to look at the bright side, the only one being I didn't have the angst about getting that first scratch anymore.

    Again, sorry mate.

Bummer....sorry to hear this. It's one of the reasons why I'm considering rear sensors. However, my fiance has them on his car and it didn't stop him backing into a pole! Hope you get it fixed soon.

thanks for the kind words all. I cannot stop thinking about it reliving that moment! I just want it repaired and back to how it was. Sensors would have saved me on this one. Wish I had them now. But yeah at least that first incident is out of the way.

In the first week of driving my car some stupid person opened his white car door and scratched my rear right passenger door. Lucky for me that they bump is very small and not a lot of white on the door

Damn, yeah I picked up my car on Tuesday not even a week old. It happened because I was being over cautious! I hope they will replace parts with oem. I even have the paint protection pack

Don' worry too much mate, I have the same curse with all my cars. My 1st car I managed to leave the handbrake off which ended up knocking off the coolant sensor (I didn't realise it until it broke down on a highway in peak hour) my 2nd car I scratched and dented a quarter of the side cos I was too busy making sure I didn't hit the Merc parked next to me and forgot about the concrete pole next to me. And worst of all i scratched a rim on my GTI on my garden bed.

I am convinced I have a 1st week curse with new cars.

yep seems to always happen when your over cautious.

Just hoping the repair will turn out like it came out of the factory.

Look at it from this point of view:

Firstly in the end its only a piece of metal. biggy.

Secondly, at least you have a polo...

The ABS failed in my first car (Mazda) and I rear ended a cop at an icy roundabout.
