Fuse guide

Has anyone found a guide for the fuses in the 6R polo, I know where they are located (under the steering wheel) but what fuse is for what??
I have no problems but I don't have a VW dealer in my Town so I want to avoid a 100k round trip drive to have a fuse changed!!

All I know it is not in the manual, and when I asked my VW dealer for a diagram they said NO and gave me some reason why...I did not listen after she said no, so have no idea why they did not help me.

These are the fuses in my 2012 6r Polo GTI

Can someone point out to me the interior lights?

I've looked on the list of fuses and have found all the other lights but not the interiors.

This is how I did it I got a multi meter and tried each of the blank fuse sockets till I found one with power with ign OFF
Then turned IGN on and checked the remaining blanks to find one with power When I found one I turned Ign off to check it was switched I then got two 10amp fuses from Jaycar that have fly leads with bullet sockets attached They come in standard or mini fuse sizes. Use those to hook the power magic into the fuse panel. Part nos SF5110 (standard size) SF5120 Mini

Second option is to buy two 10 amp and replace two fuses that do the same as above. EASY AS and neat as well.

Put some tape or heatshrink over the terminal that is in the blank end of the socket if using first method

DO NOT just stick a wire in beside a fuse as it can heat up and burn out

Poke Power Magic and ciggy connector in end of dash with some bubble wrap around it to stop rattles

Set your Blackvue to NO COMPRESSION and TIME for recording Mine work fine on 30fps at highest setting Also turn brightness up to about 75% on the slider When fitting to the screen try to get the centre of the lens in the middle NOT the bracket.
We put it up with no sticky and marked screen with texta before sticking it in place.
Make sure it is level Use someone at the front of the car to line it up.

All of mine I hid behind rear view mirror,

Dont format SD card if its new as when you install it, camera will install the software onto the card

On my own Audi A1 - i just stuck the wire in the fuse so probably thinking of changing this!

Where have you put all the cables/cigarette lighter adapter etc... There seems to be heaps that we have to hide!

For the tape over the blank terminal, do you mean (referring to the jaycar image) the clear section or the blue section?

Tape one of the blades on the fuse as it wont be plugged in as one end of the socket is blank As I said I put my ciggy socket in from the end of the dash The panel just pops off and I tucked it in covered with bubble wrap. Will try to post a pic later

Here you go Get ACC power from this fuse


Get Permanent power from the one in the gap above and to the left as you look at it between the two 25 amp ones

The covered pin goes in the bottom in both cases

This is where to stick all the bits The panel will come off if you slide a knife in and gently lever it off where the clips are

and a better view


The fuse with one pin covered Just heat the heatshrink and make sure you put that one in the blank slot which is the bottom

It was just to show how to cover the pin on the ones you use as I dont have a spare one I havent got a Power Magic in that car so dont need an earth wire But on the Passat I just used a bolt on the body and put a ring end under it. Will be one in the inside of the dash somewhere

On re reading this yes the black wire with the blue collar is the earth
