    • Please note that retrofitting Xenon's is still illegal in Australia without the headlight washer jets.
So you'd need the replacement Xenon lights (the full light housings, not just the bulbs), the motors, the auto-leveling sensors (as linked above I guess), and the washer kits...

        • Has anyone looked into replacing the 77TSI steering wheel with the GTI version to get DSG paddles? I assume it would be a straight swap...maybe?

          • Gotta make sure the required controllers are there... in the Golf apparently they're not. In the Tiguan, apparently they are. Who knows about the Polo...

                • Could be a very costly exercise if not thoroughly investigated

                  • With the use of muliplexing in these vehicle I would suspect that this would be a fruitless exercise. If you can't find any evidence of anyone having done it I wouldn't suggest being a pioneer.

                      • The beuty and nastyness of the polo is that everything s controlled by a CPU which also contains the ECu, so whetever can be programmed through teh CPU, I'm sure it could be done. The time, effort and expense involved though.... Could be interesting

As a side fact, the UK can option the Multi function wheel in their comfort line models....

                        • Hmmm... I don't think that is correct. There are many different electronic modules within a car, the ECU being one of them, and most are connected via the CANBUS. If there is something missing which prevents a new steering wheel being put on and the buttons working, it's not just a "software module" which you can load into the "CPU". It's a separate electronics module. If there is something inside a car which you could call "the CPU", it definitely doesn't have the ECU

Hence why I asked hehe, its just the missus car so not a huge benefit to pioneer it

Though if someone did it, and it wasn't too pricey I would as the lack of paddles gets in the way of having fun after you've gotten so used to them!

                            • Hmmm, perhaps that's more correct. What I do know from trawling through the manuals is that there is indeed a central processor that recieves signals from all over the place, then re-distributes them, the headlights are one example which I read up on, otherwise there is too many other pages to read through just yet!
