Ok that's ridiculous, I've been emailing TSW in Sydney about these specific wheels for my 9N3 Gti - talk about sharing taste!
Any pics of them on the car?

Bigfoot, what colour is your Polo?
Mine is red and i'm thinking the colour of the Nurburgrings is peferct for them, it may not even require too much cleaning for brake dust either!
I was quoted fifteenforty + GST + freight (fiftyfive) for a set of 17X8.0 (5X100) ET35.
Being new to this, i'm unsure as to whether the ET is suitable? Anyone know what I should be aiming for ET wise with 8inch wide wheels? Also what tyre measurements would be suitable?
Thanks
mine is pepper grey but the charcoal will look sweet on red too
$55 is cheap for postage...you sure that's to aus? i was quoted anywhere from 300 to 600 for post from the US
the uncertainty around the ET and tyre sizing is one of the reasons i'm paying a little more to buy locally. easier to change if we stuff it up!
the factory 17x7 have 215/40 so you'd be looking at a 225 or 235/40 (despite the fact they are all "40" profile the wider tyres will have a slightly higher profile)
edit - just noticed you have a 9N so you may have to go a lower profile tyre...i think
$55 is freight from Sydney to Melbourne.
The price they've quoted most likely factored in the shipping from the states.
I'm probably going to have to take the car in to a shop to get an idea of offsets and profiles that will suit with certain rim width's and diameters.
PM me as soon as you've got the pics, I can't wait to see these on your car.
I can only assume not.
Given the price of new wheels these days I'm thinking I may wait it out for some wheels to pop up on the forum, I like the idea of buying from a dubber. Maybe a set of MKIV R32's so I can powder coat them white?

I'm running 235/45 R17s on the Golf at the minute, not one bit of scrubbing and gives a great fat stance. Will look at tyre sizess the first tyre change to up the width, 215 seems a tad narrow for the power being layed down at the front
I remember putting 215s X 45 tyres on my C4 on a wheel that was 17X6.5, so I would imagine 225s or even 235s may fit the GTI wheels at 17X7? Would look pretty cool
