Tracking Progress on your Polo and Polo GTI

So Grand Mercury is due to dock in Melbourne on 9 November (it keeps getting earlier - YAY). Melbourne people with Polo's, how long has your typical wait been from the boat docking to the keys being put in your hands....?

My dealer just has to put in bluetooth and an iPod cable....

Mine was 21 days.... GTI JOE off the same boat would have been 5 if he went up to Orange country earlier than he did.

Mine is being unloaded off the boat as we speak. I have called the dealer today in a friendly way to let them know that I know the car has arrived and that you should as well, and that there should be no fluffing around . Will post an update here when dealer contacts me to organise delivery.

Took 8 days from the ship docking in Melbourne. Ordered out of Volkswagen Bayside.

Just spoke to the service manager at my dealership. He was saying he received an internal bulliten yesterday advising that VW Global has increased the allocations for Australian bound vehicles which hopefully means more Polos should be getting to the country sooner!

I know someone who ordered their car (Polo GTI) the last week of March and it has a production slot next week (week 44) which means it should get to Oz early January. Not sure if anyone else ordered around that time - but it seems positive that things are moving.

Received letter with vin and advising bremerhaven is departing port. Rang VW 1800 number re status and advised vehicle built left factory and awaiting departure at doc. Logic tells me that the December arrival time promised by dealership is unlikely. Even if it leaves this wk surely an arrival prior to Christmas is pushing it???

So i've got the Patricks tracking page up. For my vehicle at the moment it has

Passed Bond
and Quick Cycle Charge was started on the 18th.

Anybody have any idea what this means? I can't actually ask my dealer because I guessed their login details after they sent me a screenshot... ... ...

Sounds like they're recharging to battery to me

mmm thats what I would've thought too. 3 working days to recharge a battery? zzz the last leg of the wait is the worst... everything seems to take longer.

Finally good news, ship left southhampton heading to us. Coming to Aus via Panama canal. 7 December ETA as promised. In time for Christmas. Very relieved.

Hopefully! It should take about 4 weeks to get here, then at least 2 weeks on the docks / customs and then the dealer to do their thing which should take a 1 (hopefully less) week.

Which takes you up to nearly Xmas days! Fingers crossed!!!!

So I cracked the ****s at my dealer today, and they finally came back to me with a promise of monthly updates and an updated ETA of late January / early Feb 2012.

This has made me a bit happier Prior to this, I had no responses to over 5 emails i sent to the dealer!
