Due to the fact I did some of the work I got it cheaper, otherwise a general Auto-Electrician will charge say $100 an hour?

I can't divulge what I paid but if you ever buy the lights and live near Gladesville speak to David Cugola at Northside Auto Electrics he knows how to hook the unit up cleanly...and since he has done my car first...it will most likely be faster to install.

Create your own custom bootlogo for RNS510

upload your image, wait a few seconds and it will give you an ISO file. Burn your ISO onto a DVD and load DVD into RNS with key out of ignition. The system will restart, ask you confirm to proceed and give it two minutes and you've got yourself a personalised start up screen...

Turns out, it is plug & play, no coding needed! And no extra wires *looks at Gavs*

Most definitely its plug and play, the issue is "timing" as you need to disconnect the battery from the car and wait for almost 5-10 minutes while the residual charge depletes from the vehicle, to which you can proceed in removing the current steering wheel and replacing it with the new GTI/R variant (all VW steering wheels can be used).

I'm looking at the Scirocco R/Golf R Steering wheel...but have yet to find one with the air bag included in the package.

Yeah they are quite rare. There is 1 on Ebay but they only send within Germany :/
I'll keep looking for another month and if I dont have 1 by then I'll throw in the extra $$$ and go brand new

I expect you will have difficulty in sourcing these parts, and I doubt anyone will post. The fact is, most front airbags contain pyrotechnics to deploy - so distributors won't just hand them out to anyone.

Your best to source these through authorised dealers as opposed to ebay too - you don't want to trust your safety to some unknown distributor on ebay. And you'll only know for sure in an accident.
