Delivery Delay Issues.....

I just received word today on the delay of my car which will effect most people who have ordered a Polo/Polo GTI recently.....

If you have ordered the Panoramic Sunroof for a Comfortline or a GTI then production will not begin before the end of MARCH/early APRIL 2011

Whatever your dealer has quoted you as a production date for your Polo GTI is incorrect as no-one can be given a production date (according to VGA) until Mid-January.

The more options you choose, the longer you will have to wait.

My car is likely to be made End MAY/Early JUNE 2011 for a Late SEPTEMBER delivery (It was supposed to be a MAY Delivery).

LOL seriously nearly a year away for a new car? And I thought us R people were crazy!

But when did they add the sunroof option to the non GTI model?

From memory one of the other threads said the sunroof became an option with the release of 2011.5 update on the Polo [I think Week 3 of 2011].

I get my car in 3 weeks, found it and placed a deposit on it last weekend

As for the sunroof dilema... ditch it, simple as that.

I'd ditch the sunroof if it made a difference in production of more than 4 weeks - But it doesn't.

Also the sunroof looks *****-hot.

I'd wait 8+ weeks for the sunroof option........

However, at the time of our order, it was not available. Never mind. The .:R32 has the sunroof, so it will be the "Sunday" car.

I have begun the proccess of ordering a Polo GTI, and have been told I have to do it this week to get the car in June. If I order the first week of January, the delivery date was given as October.

All I want is a white GTI with comfort pack and bluetooth (Dealer fitted according to the brochure). Ho hum. Best I get the paperwork completed at work tonight and off to the salary packager so the order can go through tomorrow!

I can fully sympathize and understand the frustrations as I have ordered a white 5door polo gti too from hawthorn and i am thinking of taking up meditation again to calm my nerves as i have just sold off my 7months suzuki swift re4 perhaps too quickly......oooommmmm.ouch!

My wife ordered a Mondeo diesel wagon in Titanium spec in early July 2010. There were no options, just the standard car. She might get delivery in March (the car is finally on a boat from Europe). 8 months wait for a standard Ford? FFS!
