Can anyone confirm this?
My dealer (Solitaire Medindie - SA) is installing the premium bluetooth option in my car whenever, if ever, it arrives. They have said it will work with the RCD510 as well as the MFD. This is the 'invisible' (you don't see it) one not the crappy additional screen thing.

    • The premium bluetooth option comes with the following note on the Volkswagen Genuine Accessory Master List 'Volkswagen Premium Bluetooth Kit (only compatible with RNS510 or RCD510 and must have multifunction steering wheel and highline dash)(only compatible phones with RSAP, remote sim access, iPhone and Blackberry not compatible)'

EDIT: Apparently some guys worked out a way to resolve the RSAP problem in a Skoda; it may work for Volkswagens also? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/182...sap-bluetooth/

        +1
I was told exactly the same.
Really have to wonder why we get differing info from dealerships?
As someone again mentioned this being factory fitted.....salesman was very
clear in saying this is not an option on the Polo and its dealer fitted only
The touch screen unit is another Bluetooth option they tend to recommend for commercial vehicles

        • It really is ridiculous isn't it. VW claim to be so far advanced over other manufacturers and yet out of the whole fleet at work which is full of workhorse commercial vehicles (Amarok doesn't have it standard either, which they say is superiour to all other competitors!), not one car that has integrated bluetooth doesn't accept the iPhone!!

I would have thought that at lease the GTi model would have it standard with the audio system upgrade....

          • Guys there are multiple versions of the "premium" bluetooth kit.
The original version didn't support the iPhone. Later versions do. It's very hard when you guys use these "marketting names" rather than model numbers.

The "9ZB" MY11 factory bluetooth option is basically the replacement to the premium kit. It definitely supports the iPhone. The premium kit used to cost ~$2200 dealer installed and now only costs $550 from the factory. Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be available for the Polo yet, but you could probably get one of the 9ZB equivs from eBay and install it yourself. EIther way - there is much more info in the VW Car Audio and Electronics forum than you'll find in this "aftermarket body parts" thread...

            • Where did you order the ABT rear end/exhaust from? Was it their own website? Have looked into either getting a JEDesign rear end but waiting on a price!

                  • Hey guys,
sister just picked up her new polo today.
Its a bog standard petrol engine (sorry i dont know my polos) white in colour with comfort pack.
                    very nice little car.
I would like to get her some rims as a present to replace the hub caps she has on it at the moment.
Nothing major just some matte black 15" or maybeeee 16".
What size and fitment are they and where could i source a good yet decently priced set around melbourne or even over the net?
                    thanks

Have not received word back from VW at CCC or VWA, apparently there is shortage of parts as well as shortage of GTI's as the guy has no price in the database to give me even with the POG Vin number i gave them, which means they haven't even received shipment of spare parts for that particular batch......

Don't get me wrong, but if you were going to bother "upgrading" a sound system, you may as well upgrade to something good. Especially in the case where you were going to pay someone to do the work for you, cause the labour would cost more than these parts!

                          • It has been a while since it has been mentioned, but I am still stuck on getting the BlueMotion Grille for my soon to arrive Polo TDI.
I have been in contact with dealers overseas trying to get the part, finally one of the dealers has responded positively, but they need a chassis number to be able to identify the part; does anyone know where I can get a BlueMotion Chassis number from? Alternatively, has anyone had luck locating the part number?
I have found references on overseas forums which highlight that people in Europe have made the modification, but no numbers get mentioned.
Any assistance you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated.

                            • Are you sure it's a wise move for Australia? I don't know where in Australia you are, but one of the reasons for Bluemotion cars coming here is our "high heat" designation. There is no guarantee that even when Bluemotion cars come to Australia that we'll have the same grill, due to the restriction of airflow to aid in disipation of heat from the engine bay.

Fair point Corey, I hadn't considered that.
