I ended up getting the antenna adapter from JB Hifi, it is a Connects2 ST27AA25 (yes it is ST not CT, stinger updated there part numbers) for $30. You have to have the two connections on it, I noticed one connection is for AM, one is for FM.

I replaced the headunit in my Polo last weekend. It has full integration with the steering wheel controls and it works really well.

This is the gear I required:

      Pioneer AVH-P3250BT
      Connects2 CTSVW002 (CANBUS Interface)
Connects2 CTPIONEERLEAD (Lead for Pioneer Unit)
      Connects2 CT23VW01A (Facia Kit)

Here are the some pics (don't mind the microphone, that's only temporary!):

      Thanks
      Nice setup you got there!

Thanks! I am loving the functionality over the RCD-310. Having all my music on a 32GB SD card is awesome.

Thats the one, you have to pop off one of those green connectors for it to fit on the plug. One is for AM, and one is for FM. They only go one way as well.

It needs 12v power, I took it from the remote amp wire on my new head unit.

a suggestion, put the microphone in one of the empty buttons near the traction control (but on the side closer to the driver) as shown in my car.

Nice work done for the stereo.

Here is an updated pic with the microphone removed:

I ended up mounting the microphone in the overhead light compartment which is where the factory one gets mounted. Pain in the ass to get the cable from there, down the passenger side a-pillar and across to the head unit but it is done now!

A tip to anyone who is going to do it, use the passenger side a-pillar not the drivers. The passenger side has cabling in it that you can tie the microphone cable to, whereas the drivers side doesn't.

I get a bit of noise though, I am going to order this soon, its $45:

I have this same head unit and a Connects2 CT23VW01B facia kit, I was sure I bought the right kit at the time but the metal cage that the head unit slides into doesnt match up with the holes. Also I have no idea what to do with the copper flaps and the 2 metal plates with large holes in them.. Help!

I think I might just have to drill some holes into the cage but I think that will leave it hanging at the back and only supported by the plastic bracket at the front?

Did I buy the wrong kit? I cant seem to find any info on the B version.

                            Looks great

However, I was wondering if there are any trade offs such as losing some of the integrated functionality that you might gain from upgrading to the oem RCD 510.

That looks like a great idea and much easier than going up the pillars. Did you drill holes in the empty button or find a replacement with holes in it? Looks like a factory item!

I'm not sure there is much to loose in the Polo since it doesn't have OPS or RVC etc so comes down to personal preference. But I'll be doing RCD510 only because I'll have a spare unit after upgrading the R. I'm not a fan of the aftermarket look to be honest.

It took a while for me to get it right! I am putting in a new microphone on the weekend, I might be able to post some pics up of the head unit with the metal cage then.
