yes somebody else on the forum did have the seat squeek during cornering. Can't remember the name but i remember they said when they took it back to the vw service they found a problem with the seat rail and needed to replace it.

Mine squeaked everytime I used the clutch and moved around on the seat. They didn't change the rails but they said they lubricated the rails and checked that everything was all tightened up properly. Hasn't made a peep since.
Try moving your seat all the way forwards and backwards a few times then back to your spot. It may help reduce the squeaking.2011 Polo 77TSI | Manual | Sports Pack | Flash Red | Alpine INA W900E SatNav

I've also had the fuel line/knocking problem behind dash assessed by 2 different service centres.
Service Centre #1 (2 visits):
Checked for rattle behind dashboard. Rerouted and adjusted fuel lines as required. Wrapped fuel lines with foam. Road tested and found to be ok. Yeah right take out your ear plugs!
Service Centre #2:
We acknowledge the knocking sound is there. The technician has assessed it as being the normal operation of the DSG gearbox... WTF its behind the dash man??????????
How are we to believe these lunatics.sigpic

You might be getting some rattling of the mechatronics unit transmitting through and sounding like it's behind the dash. Unless you nmean the rattle that sounds like it comes from the induction noise pipe that is routed behind the firewall...sigpic

It's very likely this is some of the cluncking / rattling noises, it's offputting for sure. Mine goes in tuesday to have some rattles looked at, one is behind the dash which happens under a decently open throttle, is this like yours? It sounds like it's coming from directly behind the centre air vents?sigpic

Ok, resolution to my rattles.
Rattle 1:
Rattle occurs, especially over poor roads in the passenger side B pillar, tried playing with seatbelt adjuster as that sounds like the correct place but to no avail.
Rattle 2:
Rattle occurs under loaded throttle, seems to be emminating directly behind the centre dash air vents.
Solution 1:
Front passenger door striker was loose and over uneven road was transmitting rattle up, through the hollow section of the B pillar. After adjustment, not only is the rattle gone, but the front passenger door internal and external handles feel tighter and more tactile to operate.
Solution 2:
Sound generater in front bulkhead to amplify induction noise was faulty and had a rattle in it. After fixing, rattle gone.
I still have the rattles from under the bonnet but I have traced them at this stage to the DSG so I will go with them being mechatronics related.
Thanks to Stephen at Burwin VW once again for great service.sigpic

Yeah, have spoken with their servicing manager and so far, he is the only one that has been truthful when answering questions I have asked, not trying to hide behind a thin veil of bulltish.sigpic

Ok. Great! 821kms in and the Fault in catalytic converter light just came on and it's staying on!
Manual says to drive carefully to the nearest qualified workshop. Well that helps me out with a Melbourne to Brisbane drive planned for Monday.....F**)Polo GTI - 5 door - Candy White, Xenons, Comfort Package, Audio Upgrade, Bluetooth, Parking Sensors and Tint

either that or Thermal Shock as usually those two a part from physical damage are the main factors for the Catalytic converter to fail due to excessive raw fuel coming in contact with the Catalyst...Last edited by Hail22; 16-12-2011, 06:22 AM.

It's also been sucking fuel and I haven't really been driving it hard. It's using around 9.5l /100kms.
I'll see what VW say today. Just so annoying!Polo GTI - 5 door - Candy White, Xenons, Comfort Package, Audio Upgrade, Bluetooth, Parking Sensors and Tint
