Here is a picture of the wheels on the Geneva car,

When I zoom and gamma correct I think I can read 215/40R17... I am unsure of the 40 though, but the 215 and R17 are pretty obvious!

I would like to know if I can get these to fit my current polo :-P

On the topic of the new Polo, has anyone got pictures/details of what the leg room is like in the back of a 5 door?

My tyre specs on my current polo are 205/40R17, so yeah i imagine the 40 is correct. I went 205 to stretch 8" wheels

Saw a couple of new Polo's in the flesh at The Emporium in Brisbane today, flanked by two red Jettas with NSW plates (looked like VW company plates)... I liked what I saw, look like a class size bigger than the current generation

Absolutely smashes the current/previous 'box' Polo.

Now what will they be worth drive-away?

you could probably pick up the 1.2 for 20ish, but could be a little higher.

I think that if you had one, when you saw the new GTI take off, you'd kick yourself for not waiting and spending the extra to get more power.

The GTI has the 118tsi engine right? Is it configured/chipped differently? Sounds like it will still be tied to the 7-spd DSG (no manual option). If it's the same DSG as the Golf it's unlikely to be chipped any differently, but will obviously be quicker as the car itself is smaller/lighter.

How much was the outgoing Polo GTI?

I have seen a few new Polos on my current trip to Spain/Italy. Look nice though nowhere near as striking as the Seat Ibiza thats based on the same chassis.

As an aside. Rented a Clio CDI (1.5 tdi) and was getting..... 3.7l/100km when cruising in the 80/100km/h range on back roads. 5.5l/100km when cruising at 130 on the freeway... would easily go past 170 It's diesel was heaps more refined than the 1.9lTDI Golf we had before it.

picking my Candy white this weekend 1.2 TSI DSG, should I just use Ron 95 or 98? i know the brochure says 95, however is it better with 98 or no need?

I think you'd be absolutely mad not to run a quality 98 octane fuel (BP Ultimate is by far and away the best, but Shell Vortex will suffice if its more readily available).

98 octane will give you better economy, slightly more power, and less change of engine problems.

from my past experience with my other high performance vehicles,

Mobil 98 last longest compare to BP 98 or SHELL 98.
