Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • MY13.5 - Flutter sound at low speed deceleration

    Hi all

So I have not experienced any gear box issues thus far. No shudder at take off, no dodgy shifts, nothing. manual shifting is perfect, auto shifting is perfect.

The one thing I do notice is that when rolling to a stop, behind traffic for example, is a flutter/rattle (not tinny or knocky, ) sound which may or may not be linked to an auto down shift.... anyone experience this? Honestly it could be anything, exhaust, turbo ....i'm really not sure!?

It doesn't sound particularly fatal to me but I thought I would see if anyone else has this....just in case...

Car has only done 18.5k kms. MY13.5 (I think) GTI...

    Cheers
    Tom
