Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • MIB III and VCDS tweeks?

    Hello,

I have searched and read many treads here but not found any info about the new MIB III.
I have a Passat 2018 B8 with the new Discover Media.

#1 I would like to have the R logo at startup.
#2 Would like to change color to blue as seen here:

(so I also can have the blue color on the instrument on the digital instruments)

Is this possible to use same VCDS setings as for the old?
    Does anyone have any experience?

    Best regards / Andre

I have a Passat R-Line 206 on order and when received I'll reply with my findings.

Playing with a MY16 model variant was interesting as the BCM (Central Electrics Module) is no longer coding - everything (all 2000+ options) is now Adaptations. Interesting stuff!

What screen do you have for background lighting? Is it the one of a picture of the interior of the car, or just a slider under the lights menu?

mythik, thanks for responding. Hope you will love your new Passat as I do.

If I find something out I will let you know. Will do a full "scan" and post this on VCDS ross tech forum for help and insight.
As I don't have an interface my self I have to wait until I can borrow one.

Please let me know if you get any info.

Jap, I don't really understand what you mean?

My Discover media looks exactly like picture above (I do have blue stripes not red as in picture above).
My Dashboard (with speedometer and so on, is the new digital screen type)

Go to car settings on the discover pro
you should see lights, parking and menovering, and stuff like that, if you background lighting on that screen then it should be able to do (or it might already have it on there)

im still trying to work out how to do it on a car without background lighting, I can get the button to come up but just get a black screen, and my car is in the body shop ATM
