[A5 camera 2Q0980653] Passat B8.5 Facelift / IQ.Light Matrix LED

Hello,

My Passat B8.5 is equiped with factory A5 front camera 2Q0980653.

I am planning to upgrade the firmware of factory front camera (2Q0980653 HW:H13 SW:1030) because I am disappointed by the Matrix LED lights performances.
They do a very good job at night, but only with curved roads.


The A5 camera is a factory camera (Lane Assist, Front Assist, Light Assist with Matrix LED lights all working with no issue).
Will Component Protection appear after firmware upgrade (from 1030 to 1423 for example) ?

Current config :

This is what I have understood, for the firmware upgrade of 2Q0980653 from 1030 to 1423 :

1. Save codings/adaptation of current A5 config (2Q0980653)
2. Flash BootLoader 0220 (?)
3. Flash Firmware 1423 (?)
4. Write Dataset (?) for Passat B8
5. Check/update coding/adaptations

Is there any mistakes or is there anything I may have forgotten in this process ?

Is there any calibrations to do after the firmware upgrade ?

Update :

• It seems that 2Q0980653 has several HW : A/B/C/..
• There are many different bootloader/datasets, according to the hardware/software configuration of the car (eg. LED High Beam Assist, IQ.Light Matrix LED, etc.), so it is very difficult to find the correct dataset.
• Any wrong firmware/bootloader/dataset update may lead to camera brick

I am thinking of bringing my car to a VW dealer, to do this firmware upgrade.
