Hey Guys,
Bit of an odd one, hoping someone has come across a similar issue.
I had previously used a friends OBDeleven on my Passat B8 wagon with no issues.
I decided to purchase one for myself, although no luck as I am unable to connect to my car. (Both new-gen version)
I am presented with the message "Make sure ignition is turned on"
I then attempted to use it with some other car, this time no issues. I have successfully used it with 3x Audi and 1x VW. But still not working with my Passat.
I have tried manually adding the car, removing the device from the app and every turn this on before that method I could find. I have also tried running it on another phone. (Both have been Android)
Some other testing, I have done includes:
- Visual inspection of both OBDeleven pins and OBD socket on car
- Testing continuity between the rear of the OBD socket and front female side of each of the connected pins
- Tested all 12V pins
- Tested CAN bus resistance
- Tested CAN bus low and high voltages
All the voltage readings and resistance values were with specification. I can also see no damage to the connectors.
I am a bit stumped were to go from this point. Any recommendations would be apricated.
Thanks
BTW - I have had an APR tune done on this car, whether or not this may have an effect I don’t know.
