Ah bugger, I didn't realise! I just checked ETKA, and there are quite a few golf wheels that are the correct PCD and 16"? Also being bored at work I double checked Gumtree and found a few sets too! Anyhow, its not much use to you now ahaha. Keen to see how it will look with all terrain tyres

Cheers! I've been in contact with the RMS again. Tyre shop claimed the rule is no more than 15mm increase in diameter. But that's a 2003 rule which was updated in 2013 to 7%Originally posted by GeorgeMK1 View PostAh bugger, I didn't realise! RMS put me onto local certifier who also did a bit of digging and can't see an issue with using a 16" as it is listed on the placard regardless of it being listed as a spare.
As long as it clears the brakes and the tyre doesn't rub anywhere I should be good to go.
Now I'm trying to work out the biggest I can go on the 16x6.5 wheels as a 225/65R16 still gets me under 7% but will provide a slightly higher lift than the 215/60R16

B7 Allterrain Vehicle - Camp Alltrack
So we are In the game!
Test fitted the 16" rims today at the local BJ which gave the all clear for clearance on the brakes front and rear.
while we were at it I asked about changing from the Yoko Geolandar GO12 to the newer GO15 which is better suited to our snow requirements & quieter on the road. (According to reviews and yoko info) however the GO15 only Comes in 215/65r16 compared to the 215/60r16 of the GO12. They were hesitant about it fitting so I asked if they had anything similar we could give a tryout prior to ordering.
They had a Pirelli Scorpion in the same size so that went on and after dropping off the hoist we checked clearance at full lock & got the all clear.
Here's what it looks like.
 18" VW canyons 225/45 Dunlop Direzza
 16"CSA Essen 215/65 Pirelli Scorpion (wheels will be sprayed black)
 this is the Yokohama Geolandar GO15

I wondering how much more "chunk" there will be with the AT tyres. Those pirelli don't have super deep tread blocks.Originally posted by Rooboy View PostDefinitely fills the guards a bit more
Oh wel tyres are in and getting fitted Tuesday. I've got tomorrow to clean up those rims and give em a plasti dip.

Local autoone was out of black plastidip plus its $35 a can so opted for this product they had. Designer wraps at $15 a can. I've gotten one wheel with 6 coats and 2 coats on the next.

Comparing before and after. this was only 4 coats.

Yeah I was hoping the ones on my canyon rims would fit but they are wrong diameter. I'll get some off eBay and black them out or get some custom camp Alltrack onesOriginally posted by Rooboy View PostLooks good - now you just need VW centres for the new rims

Cheers, it's not for everyone, but makes sense for an 'All'track, plus it's not permanent like a lift kit. I still have the 18" wheels which will go back on after holiday season.Originally posted by doc_777 View PostYeah, looks the goods for sure
  Have been reading this thread as I was interested in how it came out for you.
Sure, it might not be something I would do, but it's YOUR car, not mine, and I reckon it looks cool.

This is just for reference purposes and is not really indicative of anything. But the height to my rear mudflap before and after.

That's roughly 15mm lift.
Also speedo vs GPS speed check before and after tested with iPhone GPS app (I'll redo this with my Garmin)
100 = 96.7 actual
110 = 106.9 actual
Now
100 = 100.2 actual
110 = 110.5 actual
