Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hi all,

I need to replace tires on our new to us 2013 Passat Alltrack.

Currently it as ContiPremium Contact 2 225/50 r17

    What tires are others running?

    Any advice appreciated.

Are you referring to a Golf or Passat Alltrack?
As I thought the Passat ran a 235 tyre...
MY18 VW Passat Alltrack Wolfsburg Edition + Panoramic Sunroof + some extra goodies... (Pure White)
MY17 ŠKODA Superb 206TSI 4x4 + Sunroof + Tech Pack + Comfort Pack + some extra goodies... (Moon White)

Depends what your doing with it what if any off-road driving do you do?
If you do a lot you may want to go a higher sidewall and more aggressive offroad tread
If 99% on road have a look around there are lots of tyres in that range depends on what you want to pay vs grip/wear
If you like sporty driving a slightly lower ie 45 sidewall and sticky tyres (expensive) i changed to 235/35/19 in my golf alltrack (with a rim change of course) it rides and handles vry nice on hankook ventisv2 tyres not super expensive about 270ish each tyre i think and give a good ride with good grip wear is unknown atm as only have 1k on them
2017 Golf Alltrack 135tdi All options
19 inch Brescia Wheels Golf R brakes front and rear
        Calipers painted Candy apple gold
New rear sway bar and linkages
