  • Warning light on dash

    Hi all,

Recently the battery was disconnected to have some work done on the car and when it was reconnected a warning light has come up on the dash.

I've looked it up in the manual and it says "electro mechanical steering assistance reduced"

Does anyone know how I go about getting this sorted out so the warning light goes off.

I've posted a photo also so you can see what l am talking about.

    Kind regards

Drive it over 20km/h in a straight line and it'll go out.

      Hi,

I have driven approximately 230kms since it happened and its still on.

Obviously i know thats not all straight driving but it should have gone off by now. Haha..

      Thanks for your hell though.

Have you lost power steering? Might be g85 sensor reset needed?

Start car up stood still turn the steering wheel all the way to the left hold it there for 2 seconds then turn all the way to the right hold there for 2 seconds then back to the middle drive straight about 5 metres if it doesn't go out after that you will need to get a dealer to reset it. Isn't the steering heavy with the light on 230ks with heavy steering wouldn't be fun like being back in the old day with no power steering.

It should've gone out pretty much as soon as you drove out the driveway.

However, they do funny things sometimes.

Ok... have tried the above and no luck.

Also tried the opposite but no luck either unfortunately.

If someone can guide you to the appropriate fuse, it needs changing. Should make the error go away. I was changing the internal lights to LED's and had similar fuse blow off. Try it.
