I'm looking at 2 Passat alltracks

Both silver with sport pack

2012 - 46k on it plus panorama sunroof - dealer
2013 - 51k on it no sunroof - private
Price almost identical

Does the 2013 model come with the 130kW engine? (Instead of the 125kW...but that's stuff all difference...it was the 380NM of torque that was nice...)

Yeah sorry should have mentioned that.

2012 is 125kw 350nM
2013 is 130kw 380nM

Just a statutory, I think it's 3 months 3500km
They offer extended if you service with them with roadside etc but a bit of a hike to get there (1 hour drive away from home compared to 15min to local VW)

Yep check on all those for both.

They are essentially the same build except for engine/sunroof, dealer vs private

2012 has one tiny dent on tail gate, paintless guy supposed to be sorting it
2013 I've not seen yet.

See if you can negotiate the 60K service within the deal it will save you some $$$ if so

They have just done the 45k service inhouse, but not sure what that has actually included.

they were trying to upsell me on an extended warranty with some mention of next 2 services possibly included (995 for warranty).

So far negotiated from 29888 to 27800. Pretty much at my upper limit of spend without borrowing (was aiming for a car around 26k but too many km or lower spec at that price or lower. Or knocked around)

Don't go for the warranty if it is with the dealer itself, they will lock you into servicing with them and you won't be able to use a non vw mechanic for warranty issues like the allianz one can. Allianz warranty will be about 2.5k. The 60k Service at a VW dealer is worth something north of $1400.

25 years yeah right Dream on How many cars would even last that long.

The T's & C's are what needs to be shown and I bet the exclusions far outweigh the inclusions and also the bit about where it has to be serviced. I had an Allianz warranty for the Polo and it was fine because nothing happened so I wasted my money.
