Hi guys I have a 2010 passat I want to swap the head unit with one that has an inbuilt head unit. How do I go about it? Is it a straight swap?

If you want navigation then yes a RNS510 is a straight swap but need to fit GPS antenna and code to car to get GPS on dash displayDARKHORSE DEVELOPMENTS

If you only want it for GPS you would be far better off buying a Tomtom or similar with lifetime free maps. For $250 you will have uptodate maps for ever (more or less).
Against a VW unit that has maps that are up to two years out of date with a clunky interface that doesnt have full text to speech directions and will cost a $1000+ .
Only thing in its favour its built in and has not a bad multimedia system..
