Does this work on the TDi

I haven't tried it in the R36 (yet!) but in the GTI... put the gear box in "S" or "manual" mode, turn off ESP, foot on the brakes... then hold the accelerator and build up revs. Lift off the brake at around 4000rpm and away you go

Does the Launch control work on the 125kW TDi?

so that protects over revving or the clutches slipping?, had to do a quick u turn and reverse the other day, waited a moment, slipped it into reverse gave it some stick and the engine revved to about 3,000rpm before it engaged.

Picked up my R36 sedan last week. Haven't had much of a chance to put it through its paces, but here are my initial impressions (in random order):

Power: A noticable and substantial improvement on my 190kw MPS6. I suspect it will hit speeds as advertised.
Handling: Again, a very significant improvement over the MPS6. Handles like its on rails.
Ride: With superior handling comes compromise. The general ride comfort suffers due to the stiff suspension, but not annoyingly so. I expect l will become used to it pretty soon.
Seats: Supreme comfort and hold. Easy to get into a comfortable driving position with a minimum of fuss.
Lights: First time I've had auto lights and they work really well. The cornering lighting is brilliant.
Climate Control: Works much better than the Mazda.
DSG: Smooth and quick gear changes, just as advertised. Have to learn not to plant the foot too quickly after engaging Drive, otherwise there is potential for a jerky take off.
RNS510: Bright and easy to use. Sound quality is pretty good even without the Dynaudio.
Fuel economy: Have only been driving around town so far, but seem to be averaging in the 12's/100km per trip. Yet to find the setting that shows fuel economy over the life of the car.
Exhaust tone: Absolutely sweeeeet. Can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can have my windows down all the time.

That's about it for now. If I've forgotten anything important, let me know and I'll report on it.

Just a quick question - is that the Mocha Anthracite colour, or is it something else?

Dad is going to be ordering his R36 next week, and we love that colour... but have no idea if you can get it in it (brochure/website/salesman all say different stuff)

While I don't think it shows it over the life of the car, it'll show it since its last reset.. I'm R32 so I'm only assuming the R36 is the same. Go to the trip consumption and hit the OK button on the wheel. It should cycle between 1 and 2. 1 being trip and 2 being overall.

I assume that 1 and 2 are tied to the driving time 1 and 2. I'm also making the assumption that the 2 setting resets after 100 hours of driving.

If it is anything like my dad's car (Volvo), you can have 2 seperate trips. Eg. 1 is from last refuel, 2 is from when you left home (if you go on a holiday interstate or something).

Yeah, that's the Mocha Anthracite colour. I'm fairly sure it's not available in Australia - we only get Biscay Blue, Reflex Silver, Candy White (but only in conjunction with a sunroof) and Deep Black.

I'd look pretty hot in white... but it's an R car, it should be whatever awesome blue colour is associated with that model

Hmm, problem then. Dad doesn't like Candy White or Biscay Blue, Mum doesn't like Reflex Silver. As for me, I like either Black or Biscay Blue (is there any chances the resale will be higher with the blue since it's a R unique colour?) and my brother is impartial

great looking shots cro...did you have to fit chains? where there any issues?

At first there were no issues, I even towed one XR6T stuck on some ice that couldn't get up a hill.But whilst we were waiting around for the tow truck to come around and get a second XR6T out of a ditch a blizzard and colder weather came around pretty fast.

Driving after that was fine till I hit some ice and mowed down one of those red poles, cracking my bumper
Although the manual says no chains allowed I'll be getting some next time I go down to the snow.
