  • Passat 103kw diesel-stalling.

    Hi All:

Anyone heard of a 'stalling' problem with the passat diesel, infrequently, when doing parking type actions. (ie. into r, d, turn wheel etc then stall!) Whats the cause? Whats the fix?

Could be the load from the power steering pump causing the stall if it happens as you turn the wheel. Try doing one operation at a time, change gear, wait a moment then turn the wheel. It'll give the ECU time to respond to the changing loads on the engine.

Apparently it's an electrical problem with an earth connection as an initial problem leading up to an ecu problem. VW A know about and its a warranty job. I had a simple fix with a earth connection.
