Hey all. Me again. Just wondering where people go to get parts for these (2003 B5 V6 Passat)? I have found a huge number of American sites but of course with the exchange rate and shipping it's generally pretty scary. Any suggestions?

    Cheers

What kind of parts are you talking about. Service items like filters or something else?

Well just about anything really. I am after a cam shaft sensor and valve cover gaskets at the moment and the only decent full kits I have found are overseas. Even then Australian stuff seems to be nearly as expensive for a less extensive kit (for example 140 bucks on eBay for valve cover gasket and spark plug gasket or $140 for a kit with a heap of gaskets in it from Europa Parts)

One is a cam cover gasket set, and the other is a VRS kit.

        You're comparing apples to oranges.

Try Tooley Imports in Sydney. They can do phone orders, and will ship to you.

Sorry for the huge size. But surely there's something like that top picture in Australia

A rare enough car in Australia that there's not many on this forum. I'd just buy where it's cheapest. Service items are easy enough. Much more than that you're at the dealer or on the net.

Just got my B5 and I have been scouring the net for information and upgrade parts. Seems there is a fair few parts in the UK. Often you can get cheap shipping from the UK to Australia if the business is using the right transport company. I have gotten cheap shipping multiple times before from the UK for various things.
