  • Thinking about changing the springs / shocks yourself?

Ie for lowering etc / coilovers.

its listed as a six hour job for springs shocks / front and rear. The rear is about 40 min of that. I have done full brake setups, cv joints using slide hammers, diff changes etc but this looks like fun you need to pull the front axle on the drivers side. Last time I did coilovers on a 180sx took about 1 hour with 2 people... Lot simpler I guess.

As you know we hsare the same suspension with the Golf / JEtta.

you also need some specialised tools - what the hell is a triple square socket, sounds like something you would send the new apprentice to buy ..

mate it seems like you have the mechanical aptitude to do it

its really not that hard to change suspension on any car i dont think it just takes time, just buy a manual first and read the instructions just to double check but its ususally pretty self explanitory!

hmm special tools, i think you can buy them from VW Aus
