I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums

You are 100% correct, you get what you pay for, and if it is too good to be true, it probably isn't, especially on eBay or Amazon. The market is flooded with counterfeit bulbs.

The fake bulbs sell for $150 for the pair, and they are worthless, they might as well damage your car...
$140 for the night breaker unlimited is not excessive at all.
You probably need to replace both bulbs, or you might notice a bit of difference between old and new bulb.

So is there any difference in light output as I am not really happy with mine. As I have said previously, the output on my old AU XR8 was better than the xenons in the R36.2013 Touareg V8TDi - Black, LED Interior Mods, LED Projector "VW" Door Courtesy Lights, 20" VW Mountain Rims with A/T Tyres, Pioneer SX Roof Platform with some 4x4 accessories and a whole lotta torque

My Passat CC had the OEM OSRAM bulbs. I have noticed The Night Breaker Unlimited are brighter than OEM, the colour temperature on the OEM is a bit more blue, the Unlimited is more white I believe. I had them installed about a week ago, and So far they are great.

I'm happy with my new bulbs, not sure how they compare with XR6... But I can see an improvement over stock OEM bulbs.
