Aerial location measurement required on an R36 wagon please

Hi all

Can anyone who has an R36 with the RNS510 installed at factory (and therefore who has the shark fin aerial) wagon let me know the distance between the edge (rear most) of the shark fin and the edge of the rear spoiler.

To make it obvious, the pic below should show what I mean - so if i had to place a shark fin on the car, how back from the spoiler edge should I position it? Thanks

As I dont know how wide the spoiler ison a R36 I measured mine from the edge of the roof to the back edge of the rubber seal the aerial sits on.

That would be the same on all models I would think as the roofs would be the same.

The distance is exactly 150mm

Is this for the purpose of asthetics?

Because, as far as I'm aware, there's no real difference in terms of reception for the satnav, if you use the retro-fit antanna, hidden under the dash.
