This dead pedal mod has been done by many people on their R32 and R36. So not a new mod.
I ordered this on eBay from a Melbourne seller, $30 delivered. The quality is surprising, quite thick piece of metal, really good.
I decided to use double sided tape so it looks more OE style. I put double sided tape around the edge. For the backing, I cut some fake leather which matches the thickness of the double sided tape, so when I stick the pedal on, there will be no gap between the pedal and the factory plastic pedal.
To install, I was thinking about taking the original pedal off for better fitment but I had trouble to take the left side torx screw off, the screw just turns freely. Anyone had experience removing that screw? Anyway, I just sticked the pedal on. Looks complete now.
