MY15 Changes - Passat Sedan and Wagon

Glad our new Passat comes with ACC, 12 way electric seats and wood insets for the beige interior. Electric seat adjustments sold us on the car which is to be delivered any day now.
Will the 3.6 litre petrol engine continue in the Highline?

The V6 will continue for now, but the B8 passat won't have it. The new chassis is not designed to accept it.

Rumour is the 5cyl turbo as used in the TTRS will pop into the next passat in some markets.

Hopefully AUS as an R line!!

We Strines seem to love the go-fast VW models - the GTI and R36 sold here made up remarkably high proportions of Golfs and Passats respectively. Hell, just this morning I saw three R36 wagons in a 1km stretch of Balwyn Rd (2 parked + mine).

I'll be thinking twice about what will be the replacement vehicle for our new Passat in a couple of years if there is not a V6 on the market at that time.

Was looking to upgrade 130TDI in a couple of years time
Especially miss adaptive chassis control on my present car
But I wonder if these limitations are for the 118TSI version only?

Next-gen VW Passat to be unveiled in July – official
Volkswagen has recently announced that the next generation of the Passat will be officially unveiled in July but it will be making its public debut this October, during the 2014 Paris Motor Show.

The Volkswagen Passat is now getting ready to receive a whole new generations as the model in question will be officially introduced in July. The vehicle will be getting a more spacious cabin, a larger trunk, optional LED headlights, standard LED taillights, a 12.3-inch fully configurable display, coming from the TT, the updated Park Assist, the Area View function, the head-up display, Trailer Assist system, Traffic Jam Assist, City Emergency Braking, Side Assist with Rear Traffic Alert and more.

As far as the engine lineup goes, one thing is for sure, the 2015 Volkswagen Passat will be getting a brand new 2.0 liter bi-turbo diesel engine, which is producing a total output of 240 HP (177 kW) and it has an impressive peak torque of 500 Nm (369 lb-ft). The unit will be connected to a new 7-speed DSG, which will be sending power to the 4MOTION all-wheel drive system. There will also be a hybrid version, with an estimated electric range of 50 km (31 miles) and a total range of 966 km (600 miles).

I guess will arrive in Australia a year later?

177k 2.0 TDI, I would love to drive that! What would be even better is that engine in a GTD Golf with 4Motion.
