  • SuperSprint Zorst...

I think I'm gonna do it... I think I'm going to buy a SS zorst for my R36 wagon: header to tail-pipes.

I've been made an offer that it well, to good to refuse!

What do people think? Am I wasting my money here, or am I fitting a piece of excellence that is worth the money?

I'm scared of drone. Drone is a deal breaker...

Wow - would love to hear it when it's done!!! I have the SS cat-back and whilst it was expensive it was definitely worth it. The sound is amazing, the build quality is awesome and absolutely no drone! It will be interesting to see what difference the headers make...can only be better. As for price...the headers down adds about $5k on top of cat-back but if you have a good deal and get a bit of performance it might be ok? If you are in sydney I am more than happy to let you hear mine before you push the go button on it?

        Hey Timlin,

I was just wondering if you ended up going ahead with this upgrade or you found another option?

Be curious to know what price you got, and if you went ahead as well. I would love to do this but the prices I saw were absolutely exorbitant, I settled for planning on the catback instead.

            Hi all

Yes, you're right Jakeys, the complete header to tail is stupid expensive plus they don't make the headers to fit our RHD cars anyway I discovered...

So I'm doing the cat-back thing too. The system arrives at the end of August and then I'll have it fitted by CPC in Artarmon.

From memory I think I paid $2.7k or thereabouts.

Congrats! You won't be dissapointed - I am still loving mine and it's been over a year.

Just out of interest - which centre muffler did you go for (sport/racing or sport/comfort)?

Wow, that's a great price. Is that something others could achieve, or was this a one off/second hand deal? The best quote I got was $3.2k for cat back, although that included delivery to SA.

Well, I wasn't asked which version I wanted, so they automatically ordered the "sport/race" version...

I suspect it'll be way too loud, so I'll try it, see how it is and if I'm not happy I'll replace it with the "comfort" one instead.

                  Which one are you running?

Its a on-off offer as I got ****ed around quite a bit in the first place.

Includes all deliver costs but not fitting... dunno how much the fitting will cost, I'd guess at around $400-$500 or thereabouts.

Be very interested to hear your thoughts on the race version as this is the one I was looking at. If it drones though, then no dice. Also, on the fitment cost, I would be surprised if you pay $400-500. Hoist the car up, bolt off, bolt on, shouldn't be more than an hour's labour? Could even DIY it I imagine.

Yes, drone is a 100% dealbreaker for me... so, we'll see!

I'll let you know how much the fitting costs - nothing is easy and straightforward these days, theres always a problem!

I am running the "sport/racing" and it's great. Definitely not too loud and absolutely no drone. If anything I wouldn't mind if it was a bit louder haha.

With regards to fitting - I had mine fitted by Jack at BLA in Sydney. He was fantastic - he installed it and told me to come back in 2-3weeks for an adjustment as the system would move around a little until it settled. I know mine moved slightly so it was great to be able to get it adjusted for free (he actually took half the system off to do this). On a funny side - it's interesting to see the cat-back "grow" when it's hot. The tips can extend by about 2-3cm from their cold position...always good to be aware of.
