R36 Standard Amplifier Pinouts

    R36 Standard Amplifier Pinouts

    Does anyone know where I can find a pinout diagram for the standard (250W, 8-Channel) amplifier in an R36. The part number is: 3C0-035-456-K and I'm looking for something similar to the following: http://www.motor-talk.de/forum/aktio...mentId=687335&

    The amp looks visually the same as 1K6-035-456-A and has two connectors, one Green and one Gray. It may be described as a Monsoon system.

    Essentially, I'm trying to determine if it's a plug and play swap for a Dynaudio Amp, or if some re-wiring needs to be done to the connector first.

      I haven't bought an amp yet, but will most likely buy this from Martin at www.JKU.com.au along with some speakers. When I was there the other day, he had a few amps in stock, so I'm sure he can supply them.

      I'd like to figure out if it is plug and play also. Even if it requires some re-assignment of plug wires, that is ok too.
      -- if you have the same inputs (4-channel, CAN-BUS, power, earth etc) and outputs (10 speakers), I don't see how it can't be made to work without having to re-wire
      -- will also need to re-code with VCDS to tell the head-unit it's a Dynaudio amplifier (may require different level HU output)

      Will post any findings to this thread. Hopefully someone who's already gone down this road can save us some time.

        From what I've found on the net, it is a plug & play upgrade, but the hard part is finding one at a reasonable price - Martin at JKU quoted me $1,800.00!! So, thats not going to happen!

          For the amplifier? Try ECS, they are ~$800 new: 3C0035456H - Amplifier - ES#342583

          Or simply search ebay for part number: 3C0-035-456 and look for C, H etc varieties (as long as it's not a K - that's the one you already have).

            Do you know a bit about the audio in the R's. I just installed an RCD510 and have a couple of small issues i need to get sorted.

              v8snerlo, not a lot unfortunately. The only things I know, I've read on forums... If you post a question, hopefully someone will be able to help you (I'll do my best also).

              If you want an expert you can take the car to, get in touch with Martin at www.JKU.com.au . They are located on the Sunshine Coast - a nice drive from Brisbane in an .:R model =)
