R36 Rear passenger seat Lever to fold seat Broken

I have broken the rear passanger lever to fold the back seat down. It is locked and will not go down.

Anyone have had this and how have they fixed it up.

I have been quoted $200 from VW to fix it which is steep for blody little plastic part.

I am unsure how to remove it.
any help would be appreciated.
