  • Cargo mat and blocks for Passat Alltrack

    Hi,

I'm thinking about purchasing something like this: Amazon.com: VW Passat Wagon Cargo Liner: Automotive for my Alltrack. It has velcro blocks which can be arranged to hold cargo in place in the boot.

I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with such things. Also, I have only found them on US sites and only for the B6 wagon, I guess because there is no B7 wagon in the US. Does anyone know if a mat designed for the B6 wagon will fit in the B7 (Alltrack, in particular)?

Anyone know of a local supplier of such things or have other suggestions for keeping cargo in place in the boot?

    Thanks,

    David

Can't help on the detail, I'm afraid.
I put a plastic/rubber mat in due to kids and camping, etc and use one of the elastic accessory nets when I only have a few things in there. Seems to work ok and easy to clean too..

You can find a passat specific cargo mats at travall - www.travall.com.au, they make some decent quality cargo mats there, although not sure how that will work out with velcro blocks. Anyway, let me know if you find anything.

The rubber boot liner can give decent grip to prevent cargo moving, add the elastic cargo net over the top may be your solution?

See my post for the Travall boot liner, I believe B6 wagon and B7 wagon use the same boot liner, not so sure about B7 Alltrack.

I hadn't considered a rubber boot liner. Does it have enough grip to, e.g. stop supermarket bags full of groceries from sliding around? Or would you need to use the cargo net as well?

I have a heavy foam on with a Supercrap rubber one on top of it Most stuff stays in place as long as you drive sensibly around corners They do have little hangers for bags but wouldn't put too much weight on them.

There is a whole system with slides in the floor and upstands with straps across if you have about $1100 . I saw a second hand one going for that. Don't know if it would fit in though as that model didn't have full width removable floor panels like Aussie odels do

If the bag rolls, you will need the net.
