        You are getting about 6.4L/100???

Look further down the road & try not to come to a complete stop.

Take your foot off the accelertaor completly when going down hills

        Get a remap

Make sure the air filter is clean & the servicing done. Possibly do services every 7500-10,000km rather than stretch to 15k.

        Pump tyres up to 40psi

remove any un-needed junk from the boot & roof racks as well

turn off the AC & run in econ mode

fit "economy" low rolling resistance tyres

        don't do short trips

What does the car claim it is doing? A lad at work has one. His wife fills up once a month and on a run it gets under 5L/100. Well over 1000km mostly city commuting.
It's a 103kw but that shouldn't make a massive difference if you are going for economy.

Hard to believe as I can only get 5.1 out of the Polo on a trip

Ok. This is 125 kw car. So, 6.4 would be good or bad?

He drives to Maryborough regularly from North lakes and doesn't have a lead foot. That's what the computer says it does.

Driving slowly does not necessary lead to low fuel consumption.

Here's something to get you started: Energy-efficient driving - Wikipedia. Also search for the term "hypermiling" on Google.

Note that some techniques may lead to contravening local traffic regulations, so use your judgement.

To eke out as much mileage as you can from every last drop of fuel is challenging and can be surprisingly fun - but remember, safety first.

                      ECU update isn't a remap.

B/stone adreniline isn't a LRR tyre. Bridegestone Ecopia, Goodyear Assurance & Michelin (anything with GreenX) are all LRR.

                        [QUOTE=brad;1029062]ECU update isn't a remap.

I know that ECC update is not remap. Where I can done remap? Is worth to go with that?
I already check internet and found something like this:

ECU Remap | Chipping | Engine Tune | Peter James Tuning | Superchips

ok. Thank you for your advice. I will check lrr tires as well.

There's a tuning & performance area. Suggest you look there.

How much money are you going to spend to save a few dorrar on fuel?

The difference of 1 L more per 100 km would work out at about $16 60 per 1000km or $249 for a 15000km a year car.

That is going from say 5.4L per 100km to 6.4L per 100km

Is it really worth spending $$$$$$ for that Just drive it and be thankful for what you are getting.

If you are so worried about it trade it in on an UP. ROFL
