R36 fuse layout

Hi guys,
This is really bothering me. I went to use the 12v supply just in front of the dsg lever yesterday to charge my mobile phone. I noticed that it wasnt getting any power. Anyhow, i remembered that there was a 12v supply in the rear under the armrest, all good. It worked. So, i thought that it must have been a fuse. Well that has opened up a can of worms. Te diagram in the handbook is useless as it is different (good one VW Australia!), so i turned to the forum. Now i found this post by Hillbilly (http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...ons-86656.html) but i have had a look and it doesnt seem to help me when i had a look under the B6 section. It has got me stuffed! Why is it so hard to check whether the fuse has blown for the front 12v supply? Here is a couple of photos of my fuse layout. First one is the drivers side. Second is the passenger side. Please help. Thanks heaps. I will be giving VW a call on Monday!

They changed the fuse box layout from MY10-onwards.

I think the fuse for the 12V socket is in the driver's side fuse box in the end of the dash. It should be still labelled as a cigar lighter fuse in the diagram.

That's the same site I originally posted to, According to it, it could be 38 which is in the second bottom row or 41 or 45

My solution would be to pull fuses till I found a blown one wont take too long. Just do it with ignition off as you don't want to disturb airbags Look at the one which has the fuses numbered and then go down the list below the diagram

Yours could be either as it changed in mid 2008 The B7 is pretty accurate for mine

Well i feel like a bit of a clutz! I've worked out what the problem is with the front point, nothing. Turns out that the front and rear sockets are different shapes and the little charger socket i bought, fits the rear one, but not the front. I tried another socket from my other car and it works in both so all i have done is swapped the charger socket adaptor from one car to the other as the new one works in the other car! Problem solved, but not the fuse layout. Still going to ring VW. I'll let you guys know if i find any useful information out from them.
