i had a run down to portsea today (260km return), a lot of stop/start as it was busy avg 4.7l/100 (according to mfd)

all good chief, Victoria has had a major heat wave... averaged 44c most days, i had to do a trip melb > hamilton > horsham > donald > bendigo > melbourne (various stops along the way + quick overtaking spurts) - roughly 1020km... out bush it was closer to 47c in some spots, i had cruise set for 125km and air con on max, 3pax & luggage.

didnt miss a beat, the mfd claims avg 4.2l/100km & 240km fuel remaining - was & am pretty happy for what is a fleet hack vehicle

I put a DTUK chip in my MY13 125 TDI a few weeks ago. It's turned the car in to a rocket ship and if I just drive it as normal has reduced fuel consumption by better than 10%. It should be the same engine as the Alltrack so I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Interestingly, I also fitted a DTUK chip at the same time into my R51 Pathfinder and although it makes a difference, its nowhere near as pronounced as in the Passat. The 2 chips are very different and hook up to the engine electronics by different means. The Pathie plugs into each of the injectors, whilst the Passat plugs into the fuel rail and the turbo pressure sensor.

I'm insured with NRMA. I mentioned it to them and they said that provided it's legal, they don't need to know about it. As far as I know it's totally legal.

Ive got a Golf TDI with AAMI and had no issue adding it to the policy and likewise the Passat, no issues with GIO.
