R36 won't start steering lock column defective

Hi all went to start car this morning. All the car does is flash all dash lights And and things keep beeping at the end once key is removed has a warning saying steering lock column defective. Any ideas what this could be?
Sounds like a electrical problem. Hope it's nothing too big. Will try and remove battery later on today

Sounds like it'll need a new steering column lock module. It's a pretty common failure.

Turns out to be flat battery
