  • Roof racks

I have a 2009 Passat B6 Sedan, I need to fit roof racks to carry my surf ski.

Have looked at all of the usual, Rhino, Rola, etc..

Anyone have any of these fitted, any good/bad points with regards to the fitment, noise, looks.

Maybe someone has a set they no longer use and would like to sell?

    Cheers

I have Whispbars on my Passat. I use them to carry one or two kayaks. They are quiet enough to leave on all the time, and they often come on spesh at Supercheap. I had Rhino Sportz bars on my old Astra but I found them to be excessively noisy. They did feel a little more solid than the Whispbars though. All my old Rhino attachments fit my Whipsbars
The Passat has fairly crap mounting points compared to my Astra, which had the mounts cleverly built in to the roof. The Passat has little dimples in the door that a steel mount sits in. Over time it has scratched the paint on mine...

Funny you would say the usuals such as Rhino, Rola.
I would firstly think of Thule / Whispbar; give them a try...

Lindsay I see you're from Devonport..a guy on Gumtree has a set of Whisbars For Sale but I dont think they'd fit my Passat.
Are they a universal fit being a gutterless bracket?

The brackets are different for each car, and are sold separately to the bars themselves
