Couple of quick questions...

Hi all, Having trouble finding info in the manual. Will the alltrack automatically lock itself if left unattended and do the mirrors fold in like I have seen on some other passats?

Mine is a B7 V6 Highline so assume it would be the same as yours. Mine won't lock itself unless you unlocked it & didn't subsequently open a door/boot within approx 20 seconds. As far as the mirrors go, they don't fold automatically. The knob for mirror adjustment should have the following contact points.

1) Adjustment - Right
2) Adjustment - Centre
3) Adjustment - Left
4) Mirror heating
5) Mirror folding

I personally have it set to number (3) above. This enables the left mirror to adjust to view the curb when reversing.

The folding mirrors only are available if you optioned the 12 position, 3 memory front seats.

wow, didn't know that. I optioned the seats and always thought that it came with the folding mirrors as standard.

*edit* - Folding mirrors are standard with V6, at least with MY13+, not sure on before. I just read the brochure.

Standard Passats only have folding mirrors as part of the driver package with the 12 way seats and don't fold automatically, you have to turn the button up to 10 oclock to fold them.
No they don't auto lock unless you have keyless entry and they don't chirp when you do lock so pays to watch the lights when leaving

I didn't realise you could do that on a B7 model. Is this a user setting or more of a behind the scenes option?

I tried to do it on VCDS and it didn't work Maybe us, maybe the car

I seem to recall reading somewhere that this only works if the factory alarm system is installed.

Sorry, didn't realise that. both my vw have had factory alarm.
