Hi Guys and Gals,
Just ordered a V63.2 4Motion wagon, silver, with black leather and auto tail gate as the only extras.
I was actually going to get the 125kW diesel version, but once I drove the 4Motion I was hooked. I used to have a Liberty 3.0R B spec 6 speed wagon, so I like AWD, but it lacked low end grunt and also lacked character. The Passat has plenty of grunt, plenty of character and would eat the Liberty performance-wise and also those little niceties that the Germans do so well, like rain sensing wipers, auto tail gate, key system, auto park brake, rear cargo net etc, etc.
A mate of mine has the R32 Golf, which is a blast to drive, so I know how good the motor is. We have a Caddy for work and the DSG gearbox is a dream, auto without the slush!
Can't wait to pick it up either late this week or early next.
