Just an example I ordered my EOS and had to re-order it already for the new satnav system. So it is a 2007 build car but 2008 compliance model. I should get it cheaper since it was built last year yeah? I have already gotten $6k off the price but want more now since it is a 2007 built car.
Only when you sell your car in future, it does make a HUGE difference as it's considered as 2007 not 2008.

    Delivered 9/6/08 : MY 08 (Mar 08 Build) Passat 125kw

      Jan 2008 Build - March 2008 Compliance.

      TDI 125KW Sedan - Silver
      $44,500 Driveaway
      Wagga Prestige Motors

Car had just arrived at dealer as floor stock 2 days earlier. 11kms on the odometer. We'd sold my wifes car privately on the weekend and we 'desperate' for a new car, and could not wait for a Passat with leather.

Just finalised the order - thought it best to finalise before posting.

Final on road price for R36 Wagon with Auto Tailgate, iPod Prep, Sunroof was $64k

Considering all the options which come standard on the car I am pretty chuffed with the price.

Car is novated lease, so GST is deducted from the above - so it works out as a sharp price.

        Now just the wait....
        Damn, that's a great price.

Our R36 will be $77947 on road. This includes sat-nav, auto tailgate, Bluetooth, and window tinting. All the other stuff - registration, stamp duty, and delivery "fee" add up... $5100-ish of options and about the same for other charges!

Steve, did you get any discounts at all? 78K for a VW sedan is pretty deep.

I am seriously considering the R36, but that will be based on the possibility of a discount (mind you, at one time R32 carried $6K *advertised* discount).

At this stage, I'd like to say to myself, I am not going to commit for over $65 (stock, no options - hmm.. maybe a sunroof..)

I know there are a few ppl pre-orderred R36, I wonder what kind of luck do they have?

I work for a public company, but we are relatively too small, we do have a lease program, but I don't even know how that works....

          Cheers,

My R36 Wagon set me back $81,000 on road Satnav, Dynaudio, Bluetooth, Tint, Auto Tail Gate.

PS I paid full RRP as the dealer wasn't going to move on price...and when its on pre order you dont have much choice.

Nah, none at all - the dealer wouldn't move, though I didn't try very hard.

It wouldn't have been worth the hassle to save a few hundred bucks, since that was probably all I could have hoped for anyway.

That seems cheap for the options you've listed. Would've expected it close to $83k. Was the $78k price inclusive of stamp duty, GST?

Yeah, that's a drive away price. Base price of the car is $66990, $5114 of options/accessories, $728 registration, $2620 stamp duty, and an enormous $2495 dealer delivery... sigh. GST is included on the total cost of the car and options etc.

/Sigh at government charges. I've optioned up the car with Sat Nav / Rev Cam / Auto Tailgate / Sunroof / Dynaudio......the LCT on that is rediculous. LCT should not apply to options in my opinion. Its artficially inflating the price and unfortunately I can't add these options post delivery. Final price is over $80k
