Looks like I will be going ahead with this upgrade. Peter is a really great bloke - honest and quite helpful. He explained he will be able to tweak the tune a little to work better with the less restrictive exhaust I have fitted.

Best $$ I've ever spent on my R36. Massive improvement in torque and power delivery, plus a 20% increase in fuel economy too! I'm curious, what exhaust system are you running?

I'm lusting after a set of SuperSprint headers for my car, and then maybe a HiTechMuffler system from the headers back, I'd love to full SS system, but at close to AU$9k, thats not going to happen...

Lets know how you go with it! Pete is a great bloke and he knows his stuff!!

I have the supersprint cat back system. Really great system - I have had it now about 9months and it still makes me smile. It is an expensive option but I can definitely see the value. I have to say - I have considered the headers etc as well.....just couldn't justify the extra $5-6k!!! I actually ran this by Peter and he explained it probably wasn't worth it in the long run as the potential power gains are not that great (especially considering the bang for buck of yhe tune).

If you want any info or specifics of the SS system just let me know.

Just wondering can this be done remotely or do they dyno tune the car?
I noticed that the pricing seems to vary a bit, I got a quote from Peter for $750 (I dont think he realised I was in Perth) and then i noticed on the tigersoft page its $494 Superchips Tune Volkswagen Passat 3.6 R36 [UKVWPas36R36P2956/08-3/10] - $494.10 : Tigersoft, Tuning - Coding - Styling
I have emailed Ramp Auto in Perth who are the Superchip dealer and it will be interesting what the WA tax is.

Peter does it all on-site. He comes to you and does it in your driveway, or thats what he did with me anyway.

I'd suggest that the pricing moves around depending on competition, supply/demand etc. Mine cost $650.00 about a year ago - was happy then and still very happy now!

Of course the next obvious move is this I guess! HGP Turbo systems

Well I got Peter to install the upgrade on my car and have been living with it for a week now. I am loving it - it's not so much the power increase that you notice but rather the way the power is delivered. There is a lot more power in the lower rev range and very consistent power delivery from then on. There was one weird thing i noticed - not sure if it is actually related but the DSG seems to be a bit smoother especially in stop start traffic???? All in all very happy with it and would recommend both the product and Peter.

I hit an avg 8.9l/100km on my drive to/return from Brisbane last week. Amazing economy!

                            Brisbane? Very tempting...

I'm thinking of a DSG/Haldex re-map too. Does he do these also?

                              Nermal

The chip/tune is well worth it. Very dramatic change in the cars performance. I have the HALDEX Gen 4 controller as well, barely noticeable unless really giving it some, Not really sure if that was worth the cost. I had CPC in Sydney do my DSG tune, and thats also money well spent. The DSG seems to "learn" your current driving mood vary quickly. Its also avoids going in to 6th at 60kmh which used to annoy me! The sport mode seems to hold the gears a wee bit too long for my liking, its very agro. For some reason I also lost my launch control too... not that I use it, but I'll get CPC to sort that out.

I'm going in next Monday to have my VWR BBK fitted and then, when they arrive, I'll have the new VWR 2 piece rear rotors fitted too.

Back to the tune - get it, it'll be one of the best upgrades you'll ever fit!!

Finally got myself a used Sprintbooster from a local Ebay guy! Cheap as well! Delivered in 1 day.
It really is amazing on what it can do. Honestly trying very hard to simulate the throttle pressure using my big foot has been a failure trying to replicate the sprintbooster functions.
I now know why ppl whom hasn't tried it says its a waste of money. It's because they haven't tried it!
After years of delaying, finally I've got one!
