  • 1st Weekend with Passat

Have now had my Passat 125TDI(jan 2013 build) since midday on Friday after trading in my 05 multivan highline 3.2l 6spd manual 4 motion.

Is nice to be back in a car again, am very impressed with the Passat. I looked at Mondeo and Mazda 6 but the Passat won out. i am impressed with the performance an economy. This is my 1st diesel and 1st automatic so quite different to the van.

Liking all the technology. Very happy with my decision.

Good choice fletchog! I was in the same boat and the 125TDI won me over (first diesel car). I'm a bit OCD and washed and vac'd twice since Thursday
I opted for the visibility package and panoramic roof and love it !

Driven carefully you can give 1000km/tank a nudge.

Great car. How did you go with the bike rack? Which brand did you get?

Went for thule racks and bike carrier, roof bars are a wing shape and lower profile clamps that can be moved along roof rails if required. Bike carrier is the wheels on type with the down tube clamp. all lock keyed alike. Great serice by Pole position in Geelong.

I got the vw type thrown in with the car. Haven't taken delivery yet but I've heard mixed reviews. My mate used to have the thule carriers, they worked really well.

I didnt like the vw cross bars and these give me more width as the go a little wider than the roof rails
