  • Where is the odometer?!

OK, I'm feeling really stupid now. Been going through the manual front to back and then back again, including using the index.

Where is the odometer in the Passat Alltrack?

Page 19 of the manual talks about "mileage displays", which indicates you should see either the odometer (overall total km driven by the car) or the trip meter.

But no indication how to switch between them (I can switch between the various meters in the MFD shown as Distances).

Where I should see either odometer or trip display, mine seems stuck in Trip mode, or at least that's the word showing up above the current driven km. It's in the lower right hand corner of the MFD.

What am I missing here? The 400 page manual isn't the best I've ever seen, but it does normally cover everything (thought there's some confusing mistakes, omissions and "German literally translated to English" errors), but this one is terse and apparently lacking.

Oh yeah, and if this IS in the manual, please quote verse and chapter (and page and paragraph) to show where my eyesight is going bye-bye!

do you have a button to reset the trip meter on the instrument display? sometimes you just push that once to swap between. Hold to reset the trip....

Just looked at mine a few minutes ago for something else and the odo is in bottom left of MFD under the white line and the trip is to the right of it

To the right of the MFD in the dash below the instrument binnacle is a button with oo/set on it That zeros it etc I dont use the 2nd speed display which it also has

With most VW's with the white MFD (display between speedo and tacho) the Odometer is also the cruise control reading. When you come to a stop the Odo should show, or turn off the cruise control and it will appear!

            shakespeare wins!

Because indeed I only seemed to look while moving and saw cruise control info (or -.-- km/h and some circly icon around a car icon) in the lower left.

Thanks, guys, glad I'm not totally bonkers, just didn't look at the right time! Bit weird though.

Push the cruise control stalk all the way back. It disables the cruise control display and just shows the mileage.

Yep, that is what I do to view the odo.
