Its cool being able to track the car. Mine came into Melbourne yesterday on the Aniara. I watched the ship dock on the webcams. My dealer rang today to tell me it should be about three weeks away from arriving in Hobart!!

Whoa, wasn't aware that was around. marinetraffic.com doesn't have them. Quick google and I'm bouncing up and down. Love the one where you can control the webcam for a certain time yourself! I assume Ro-Ro vessels all got to Webb dock?
Now I won't have to take a sickie to go shipspotting!
Also you won't see much movement from outside of Durban as 1. they turn off the transmitter to hide from pirates and 2. they will get too far out to be received by any of the receivers.

Yeah, that was the same along the west coast of Africa. Ship "disappeared" around Spanish West Sahara/Senegal and then didn't show up again until around southern Namibia. marinetraffic.com also states that their AIS receivers really only have a range of *at best* 200nm, with 40nm being more common.
My friendly stealer said 3 weeks from docking to our taking possession. They better not take that long! First they said 2 weeks. This had better just be CYA on their side.
The lady was late! Fortunately, because at her scheduled ETA of 6am I would still have been asleep and it would have been too dark anyway.
But so, I was able to hunker down in front of the Port of Melbourne webcam and enjoy the glorious site of the Sunshine Ace majestically sailing into Melbourne on a sunny day! Ah, for X-Ray eyes to see all the cars lined up in her belly!
