    As with all cars this is a engineering and aerodynamic issue. With most cars the maximum fuel economy is about 90km/h.

        Yes was in the USA when Speed limit in CA was 55mph. Now in parts its 75mph and up in Washington one part was 85mph.

        Chrysler 300 still did 27mpg over a 3500mile trip LOL

          I just did a search on the internet for a graph showing mpg versus speed and among others came up with the following:

          Mpg For Speed - Fuel Efficiency Vs. Speed

          Fuel economy in automobiles - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

          Thought they may be of interest. Looks like 55 mph (~90 kmh) is indeed the sweet spot. Assume its the same for petrol and diesel?

            Seems to be when vanning I drove usually at 90kph in 4th auto in the Cruiser and got just as good consumption as going a bit faster in 5th and engine was in the sweet spot and didnt hunt up and down the box all day as it did in 5th.
